Two and a half months back, one of us in Battees took up an initiative to encourage people to write, and write by hand to post by snail mail. With the help of a lot of talented designers, it was hosted on the occasion of World Post Day on 9th of October, 2013 at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad.
There’s in fact a whole story behind how it came about, but I don’t think I feel excited enough to type that all out again, so please do visit an older post about it if you’re interested. 🙂

Nevertheless, it turned out rather well when a whole bunch of students at NID realized that all you had to do was write a message, put a menial postage charge and drop it right across the road. It was that simple. (Of course, we made it simpler by providing the postcard and stamps to go along!)
But the best part was that it made them realize who really are those few important people in their lives. They made the effort of finding their addresses; discretely or not! And they sat there and wrote out the cards (We did use a strategy to use against procrastinators, but to know that, you’ll have to read a little more!)
